Sponsorship and Giving
Commitment to social responsibility runs deep within Florida Marine Transporters. At FMT, our success has been built around a continued commitment to ethical behavior and contributions to economic development, improving the quality of life of not only our workforce and their families, but also the local community. Such efforts have been unmistakably reflected onto the face of our organization. FMT is blessed to have the hardest working, friendliest family of employees in the industry. These men and women go above and beyond their call of duty to help us carry out our leadership goals of being responsible corporate stewards within our community. In 2009 the Foundation and Florida Marine partnered to send 20 outstanding high school students to London to watch the New Orleans Saints play the San Diego Chargers. These students were selected by their respective churches based upon their outstanding community service, which included extensive work in foreign missions and other community service projects. All the young people were also given footballs signed by Saints quarterback Drew Brees at a party sponsored by FMT’S CEO Dennis Pasentine.
Friends of the Frontline
After Hurricane Katrina, Florida Marine CEO Dennis Pasentine founded Friends of the Front Line, a non-profit foundation to assist first responders who were affected by Hurricane Katrina. Through the Friends of the Front Line, Mr. Pasentine disbursed nearly $1,000,000 to first responders in the area. Mr. Pasentine became aware of the losses suffered by police and firemen from his controller, whose husband is a member of a local law enforcement agency.
